A poem, by Brighty.

Companion to Broken Promises

Silver claws

They struck my throat

I was trapped there

There was no escape

I wanted to be free

But free was an impossibilty

White knuckles

Pressed against my chest

I felt weak and alone

Nobody was there to rescue me

I wanted to be free

But free was an impossibility

Cold eyes

Dug into my soul

Making me worthless

Worse than I already was

I wanted to be free

But free was impossibility

Drops of blood

Dripped off my face

As I died on the road

Away from the race

I had wanted to be free

And now, free is my only possibility
