it takes a little hell
to know what heaven is worth
-A Little Hell - Radical Face

I live in a little hell;
Each day the same
drag on my limbs, the same
weights in my heart, the same
lead lined lungs.

I live in a little hell;
Not a war torn world
where fighting is survival
and survival is scarce, few still
breathing in the night.

I live in a little hell;
Trapped only in my mind
as outside all is fine, I smile
as I fall apart inside, I smile
while screaming on.

I live in a little hell;
One where nothing is wrong
but everything feel wrong
even when all should be well
in this life of wealth.

I live in a little hell;
My mind betrays my memories
so I cannot remember, what is real
in this world, what is real
in this sadness.

I live in a little hell;
The torture knowing all is
wrong but the traitor inside
whispering all is right, it is I
who is wrong.

I live in a little hell;
The lead of my lungs weighs
down all I do and am, and hard
it is to go on and breathe, and hard
it is to be.

I live in a little hell;
Where fire freezes and ice
burns deep in my heart, my cold
bones brittle and break, my cold
and empty smile.

I live in a little hell;
From which I can not break free.
Each day the same, better than worse
Yet still empty of any feeling;
A shell of what once was
When one did not live in hell.

I live in a little hell;
A world that should be
of heaven and sun, but rain
falls and clouds what I see, but rain
is my misery.

But this hell is small;
Just as I, just as this earth
and this sky,
So which star would point and cry
If I were to fly, then fall?
